Work Based Learning Coordinator

Position Title: Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator, 1.0 FTE 

Purpose: The Northern Lights Special Education Cooperative (NLSEC) is seeking a skilled and motivated Licensed WBL Coordinator to work with students, teams, and employers in its member school districts.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience: 

-Current Minnesota Professional Educator License and Standards Board (PELSB) or other state license in a qualifying secondary special education disability category as well as a Teacher/Coordinator Work-Based Learning endorsement or ability to obtain licensure while on an Out of Field Placement license*
-Experience working as a Work-Based Learning Coordinator preferred 
-Experience working in an education or school setting preferred 
-Motor Vehicle Operator's License and ability to provide own transportation.

*NLSEC has current grant funding to support tuition costs toward a special education teacher license for qualified applicants who hold a bachelor's degree. Additional funding may be available through the Lakes Country Service Cooperative to cover the cost of adding the WBL endorsement for applicants who hold a current secondary teaching license. 

Anticipated salary range approximately $48,000 - $94,000, based on level of education and experience. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator for students with disabilities within NLSEC acts as the bridge between the classroom and the professional world. Their primary mission is to help students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in multiple school districts to develop the skills, experience, and confidence needed to transition into adulthood and competitive employment. The functions and responsibilities of the WBL Coordinator include program planning, development, and evaluation; related-class instruction; on-the-job instruction and coordination; guidance and advice; program administration and management; and community and public relations.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Work takes place in standard office, school building environments, and various job sites in member district local communities.

Travel Requirements
Travel between member districts and professional meetings is required.

Equipment
Use of standard office equipment such as personal computer, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
